Heidi Hevia Campos is a former ISTAP Regional Director for Latin America, and is an experienced nurse and academic who is currently undertaking her doctoral project on the impact of an education intervention on nurses' knowledge about skin tears.
Heidi is making remarkable strides in advancing skin tear prevention and management through her doctoral project. Currently, she is training nurses from four public hospitals, delivering a mix of theoretical and practical education. These sessions include real-case validations, expert feedback, and the use of the OASES-2 Measure, ensuring comprehensive learning and engagement for all participants.
In addition, Heidi contributed to a chapter on skin tears in neonatology and pediatrics for an upcoming book by Dr. Guido Cipriano and Prof. Dimitri Beeckman, now under review. Her dedication to improving skin health in diverse populations is truly inspiring.
